Phil Golden ’76

Phil is the newest member of the Saint Benedict Society, having planned to bequeath a portion of his estate to Priory. He acknowledges that estate gifts make up the revenue streams that can fluctuate with annual donors. They also give donors who did not or could not contribute to Priory in their lifetimes a chance to “catch up” on giving back. Making his planned gift, he invites his fellow alums to join him in considering an estate gift.

My estate gift will be allocated to endowed financial aid. By itself my gift might cover tuition for only one student for a year; but if every grateful alumnus or alumna were to make a similar endowed estate gift, the Priory would have a full-endowed financial aid program that avails students from working-class backgrounds to a Benedictine education and leadership opportunities while simultaneously furnishing direct budget relief to the school. My family won’t even miss it. The power of collective giving can transform an educational restitution, and that is part of transforming the world. Let’s do this!”
