The Gambetta Family

The Gambetta Family lived on the dairy farm adjacent to Priory. They, too, had emigrated from Europe. Priory became Mama Gambetta’s source of spiritual support. Eventually, Mama Gambetta wanted her land to be used for the education of students. She bequeathed her farm to Priory, which included more than 30 acres of land. Today her gifts are literally the foundation upon which much of the school rests and provide an endowment for the monastic community and school. Over the decades Mama Gambetta’s gift has provided far more than she could have imagined and would have ever given during her lifetime.
